My ongoing project of late (don't I say this every year?) has been to sort and organize the entirety of my photo archive which has gotten extremely disorganized as I've changed hard drives and computer platforms (Mac to PC, back to Mac, then split between the two). That largely takes the blame for my absence of posts since my art show. Though a tedious and time-consuming project--if a necessary one, it has been fun to look over old forgotten works. I generally remember the vast majority of shots I've taken so it's a pleasant surprise to find some I'd forgotten about. This was a shot testing my then-new 70-300mm macro zoom lens on a bunch of Alstroemeria in the backyard, a year ago. Sometimes the test shots are worth keeping. I think I have a shot similar to this one somewhere on my website. That shot and this are from the same early morning in my Providence apartment years ago. The tower in the distance is the Westin in DownCity. This was a shot I took on a short little road trip with my doggo nephew, Toby. We'd stopped off at a park along the way for a bathroom break and it had a very California view of the hills: tacky track homes and high voltage transmission towers.
