About the Book:
I remember the day the first lockdown order went out with vivid clarity.
My partner and I had been discussing the spread of what was then more commonly referred to as simply "coronavirus" for a good month. We'd been watching its spread with concern, and only a few weeks prior had begun to prepare for the worst. Our pantry was stocked with beans, rice, and dry pasta. The shelves were overflowing with cans and jars.
I was lying in bed after having taken the week off, recovering from what I would later learn to be a stress-related bout of tachycardia, when the phone buzzed on the bedside--the starting shot of what would become a years-long global pandemic the likes of which mankind had not seen since the black plague.
This book is my diary of that first year in lockdown.
